Friday Spotlight - Restoration

Writer: Office ManagerOffice Manager

Happy Friday yet again folks!

Its me, the owner! I have stolen this weeks spotlight and today, I am happy to introduce you to a good friend of ours, Restoration Dave! (Click to check out his YouTube channel)

Dave is passionate about restoration, specifically vintage motorcycles. He believes that any bike can be restored if you are just willing to put a little elbow grease into it. Unfortunately, there are some bikes that are just too far gone. Let me tell you a little story about one bike in particular...

When I graduated college, that summer, we went to the Vintage Motorcycle Days like we do every year. Dave is one of the many people we see there year after year. As I walked back up to our vendor spot, Dave told me he had a graduation present for me. While I was out walking the isles of the swap meet, they had pushed a motorcycle on our spot. When I say it needed some work, it needed some serious work.

It was funny and Dave and his friend had 'decorated' it. As the weekend went on, the little thing kind of grew on me and I wanted to take it home and fix it up! Well, Dave accepted the challenge as always and took it home. He said he would fix it up for me and bring it back next year.

Over the next few weeks, we received video updates about the little Bridgestone and they were more grim every time. Eventually, it had to 'go out to pasture' but Dave tried his hardest to make something of the poor thing.

When my dad and I started this business, one of our biggest uses was to clean up old motorcycle parts. Our first shows were motorcycle groups and swap meets. It can just really be amazing when you take something that looks like its doomed for the landfill and restore it back to its prime.

To keep a long rant short, go check out Restoration Dave's channel. Maybe you'll get inspired to start a project. And keep a lookout for Dave's review of our cabinet and more content as he shows you how he's been using his.

Happy Friday, Have a Great Weekend, Go Have Some Fun, and all the other things from all of us here!

Just for fun, here are some more photos of that Bridgestone all 'decorated' for my graduation:
